At the sideline of the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Honourable Minister of State for Environment, Dr Iziaq Kunle Salako participated as a panelist in a session titled “Climate Change and Health Finance Dialogue”.

The event co-hosted by WHO, Global Fund, COP28 Presidency, Clinton Health Initiative, AMREF, Green Climate Fund and Foundation gave Dr Salako the opportunity to advocate for raising more climate centric health workforce and integrating community health and environmental health at the grassroots for more mileage in addressing the heavy challenge of climate change on disease burden, healthcare access and services.

Climate change has become a profound public health issue disrupting the health system in ways beyound most epidemics.
