SALAKO PROMISES TO TRANSFORM ENVIRONMENT SECTOR

 The Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Adeboye Salako has promised to transform the environment sector to demonstrate that Nigeria is truly a giant of Africa.

 He disclosed this during his assumption of office as Minister of State for Environment recently in Abuja.

 Salako underscored the importance of safeguarding Nigeria’s environment hence the need to collaborate with other government agencies, communities, and stakeholders to implement effective policies and practices that prioritize, protect and restore the environment as well as fulfilling the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu renewed hope mantra of his administration.

 The Minister stated that Nigeria is a very great nation and a gift to Africa hence we all have responsibility to ensure that the full potential of Nigeria is made for all to see through its leadership role amongst African nations.

He further stated that ‘’environment is a gift to human being by God, the air, water, land and other living things like animals and plants. If the environment is not well maintained, God will not be happy with us’’

 Furthermore, he said he is going to be tasking all the Management Departments especially, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), emphasizing that research is the basis for evidence which he hopes will be up and doing. Every other Department is important while working as team to deliver the mandate of Mr.President Bola Ahmed Tinubu renewed hope in the environment sector.

 In response, Mr. Charles Ikeah, representing the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry pledged unwavering dedication and commitment to delivering outstanding services.

He expressed the collective determination of the Ministry’s workforce to make Minister Salako’s tenure enjoyable and to meet and exceed the Ministry’s and the nation’s expectations.
