Dr. Bakari Wadinga Ph.D, FCA

Dr. Bakari Wadinga hails from Adamawa State. He holds a Ph.D (Economics) ABU, M.Sc. (Economics) BUK and a B.Sc. (Economics) UNIMAID and an MBA. He has over 30 years working experience in the Accounting and Finance functions both in public and private sectors.

Dr. Bakari Wadinga started his professional career in 1985 as an Auditor Trainee with the firm of Chartered Accountants (Peat Marwick Ani Ogunde & Co.), now called KPMG.

Between 2000 and 2005, Dr. Bakari Wadinga served as Chief Accountant with the Ministry of Defence, Headquarters Abuja. He was also the pioneer Head of Planning, Reporting and Statistics Department at Federal Inland Revenue Service, Headquarters, Abuja between 2005 and 2010. In 2010, he was appointed Deputy Director, Finance and Accounts and worked briefly at the National Planning Commission.

He served as Permanent Secretary, Common Services Office (CSO) at Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) between 2018 and 2019, Head Finance and Accounts with the Bureau of Public Service Reforms Abuja between 2011 and 2016. Dr. Wadinga was the Director of Revenue and Investment in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF). A position he held from 2016 to 1st December 2018. He was subsequently elevated to the position of Director of Accounts, effective, 1st January 2014.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

Dr. Bakari Wadinga has published various articles in the field of Economics, Accounting and Public Finance. He is the Chair, Editorial Board, ‘The Treasury Journal’ Federal Ministry of Finance.

His hobbies include fish farming, animal husbandry, horticulture, entertainment and hospitality, among others.
