Brief Profile: I was employed by the Federal Civil Service Commission in the 2000 as a Senior Technical Officer, Grade Level 9 Step 1 and later converted to Procurement Cadre.
Procurement Department
VISION: Building and sustaining an efficient country procurement system that meets international best practices.
MISSION: To professionalise the process of procurement that ensures Transparency, Efficiency, Competition, Integrity and Value for Money to support National Growth and Development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement plans in accordance with the Public Procurement Act 2007;
Pre-Qualification and Bidding: Conduct pre-qualification exercises and bid opening processes.
Contract Award: Issue contract award letters after obtaining necessary approvals.
Audit and Evaluation: Conduct periodic procurement audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with contract agreements.
Secretariat Functions: Serve as the secretariat to the Procurement Planning Committee and the Ministerial Tenders Board.
General Responsibilities
Transparency and Accountability: Ensure transparency and accountability in all procurement processes.
Value for Money: Ensure that the government gets the best value for money in terms of price, quality, and timely delivery.
Efficiency and Effectiveness: Promote efficiency and effectiveness in the public procurement system.
