HIS EXCELLENCY MUHAMMADU BUHARI GCFR

GCFR PRESIDENT COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

Muhammadu Buhari GCFR was born on 17 December 1942, in Daura, Katsina State, to his father Adamu and mother Zulaihat. He is the twenty-third child of his father. Buhari was raised by his mother, after his father died when he was about four years old.

He attended primary school in Daura and Mai'adua before proceeding to Katsina Model School in 1953, and Katsina Provincial Secondary School (now Government College Katsina) from 1956 to 1961. He then joined the Nigerian Military Training School in Kaduna, where his military career began.

He is a retired Nigerian Army Major General and was Head of State of Nigeria from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985, after taking power in a military coup d'état. The term Buharism is ascribed to the Buhari military government.

Buhari has stated that he takes responsibility for whatever happened under his watch during his military rule, saying that he cannot change the past. He has described himself as a "converted democrat".

In March 1976, the Head of State, General Olusegun Obasanjo, appointed Buhari as the Federal Commissioner (position now called Minister) for Petroleum and Natural Resources. When the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation was created in 1976, Buhari was also appointed as its Chairman, a position he held until 1978.

He ran unsuccessfully for the office of President in the 2003, 2007 and 2011 elections. In December 2014, he emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the March 2015 elections. Buhari won the 2015 general election, defeating the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, thus marking the first time in Nigeria's history that an incumbent President was defeated in an election by the leader of the opposition. He was sworn in on 29 May 2015.

HIS EXCELLENCY MOHAMMED H. ABDULLAHI

Honourable Minister

Mohammed H. Abdullahi was born on 21st April, 1968 at Uke in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. He had his primary education at Uke Central Primary School and Government Secondary School Uke from 1974-1979 and 1979-1984 respectively.  He graduated from Usman Danfodio University Sokoto with a combined Honours Degree in Law and was eventually called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991.

Mr. Abdullahi started his Legal Career with Messrs Ola Olanipekun & Co. (Prime Chambers) as an Associate Attorney (1992 – 1994) shortly after his compulsory National Youth Service Corps Scheme (NYSC) with Messrs Ukpabi, Ukpabi & Co. (Legal Practitioners) in Enugu from 1991-1992.

Mr. Abdullahi’s career span almost three decades in both the Private and Public Sectors which includes being a founding partner in the law firm of Messrs Hammart & Co. (Tafida Chambers) from 1994 to date, Chairman – Karu Local Government Council (Nasarawa State) in 1996, Deputy General Manager/Company Secretary Nasarawa Investment & Property Development Company, Lafia – 2000-2002; Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice, Nasarawa State (2003-2005), Group Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) from 2006 – 2008, Vice President/Executive (Administration & Regulatory, Intercell Tech Limited, 2008 -2011.

Mr Abdullahi was re-appointed Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice – Nasarawa State, 2011- 2013 and later became Special Adviser on Special Duties where he superintended the Nasarawa State Government 30 Billion Bond Issuance Programme (1st Tranche) and also supervised the Investment portfolio of the State, he also served as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Nasarawa State from 2017 – 2019.

Until his appointment as Hon Minister by President Muhammadu Buhari, he was the minister of state for Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. He is a member of both the Nigerian (NBA) and International Bar Association (IBA).​

HER EXCELLENCY CHIEF SHARON O IKEAZOR

HONOURABLE MINISTER OF STATE

Sharon started her Primary School Education at the St. Mary's Convent School Lagos, Secondary Schools at the Queen of the Rosary College Onitsha, the Godolphin School Salisbury England then for Higher Studies at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. She obtained her Bachelor of Law (LL.B Hons.) from the University of Benin and Certificate of Practice from the Nigerian Law School in 1985.

With over thirty (30) years Post-Graduation experience as a Legal Practitioner, Politician, Management Consultant, Philanthropist, Social activist. Sharon has had the opportunity to be involved in several start-up and re-organizational projects for both foreign and local companies as well as in Banking/Corporate Finance, Administration/Legal/HR and project monitoring fields providing her with in-depth knowledge of business development for Foreign Multinationals as well as National and International Government Liaison, Contract Development and Project Management.

In 2011, she contested and won the position of National Women Leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) an opposition Political Party. As National Women Leader, She partnered with the International Republican Institute (IRI), National Democratic Institute (NDI), UN Women and the UNDP in capacity building and training of Women in Leadership and Political roles in Nigeria. With the merger of the three Political Parties in Nigeria in 2013, She emerged the Interim National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) thereafter was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2014.

During her tenure as the APC National Women Leader, she established the APC Young Women’s Forum (APC-YWF) to mentor and sponsor young female politicians and she continues to organize and participate in leadership, training and mentoring of young women in politics.

Sharon runs a prison outreach program that pays the fines of awaiting trial persons and also undertakes free legal representation for inmates. She also founded an NGO - The Wakiliyan Matta Empowerment Initiative for the internally displaced women, who are given back their dignity by disbursement of interest-free loans to start small scale businesses.  As a firm believer and advocate for the girl-child education, she continues to sponsor a number of girls through primary, secondary and tertiary education.

She currently serves as the Vice President of Women in Politics Forum (WIPF) which she co-founded to build the capacity of female politicians across political lines.

Sharon was appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on the 26th of September, 2016. In her short stint at PTAD she transformed the agency and restored hope to pension administration under the Defined Benefit Scheme in Nigeria. This earned her the moniker   ”Mama Pension” among Nigeria’s teaming pensioners.

In August 2019 she was appointed Minister of State Environment by President Buhari.

She holds the chieftaincy title of Ada Igbo Ji Ejemba of Aba, Abia State, the Garkuwan Mata of Mayo Farang, Adamawa State.

Sharon is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators of Nigeria and a member of Nigerian Bar Association.

ENGR. HASSAN MUSA

PERMANENT SECRETARY MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT

Born on 10th October, 1962 in Nigeria, Engr. Hassan Musa had his early educations in Nigeria and later continued his tertiary education in Poland, where he obtained his M.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering in 1989. He, thereafter worked with Polish Airlines; ‘LOT’ Warsaw – Poland to the end of the year.

2.    During his NYSC with Donier/A.I.E.P Kaduna Old airport, Kaduna, Engr. Musa worked on the production of first made in Nigeria Prototype Aircraft: The Air Beetle between 1990 and 1991.

3.    He earlier joined Hold Trade Air Services Limited, Kaduna from 1991 to 1993 and Oriental Airlines Limited, Ikeja – Lagos between 1993 to 2000, both Private Airline Companies, where he gained wide range of experience. He later joined the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) between 2000 to 2006 as Safety Inspector, where he served in different capacities among which were the Kaduna Regional Manager supervising all aviation safety and economic activities at Kaduna, Zaria and Jos Airports.

4.    Engr. Musa transferred his service to the Federal Civil Service and rose to the rank of Director with effect from 2010 to 2019. He had regularly led Nigerian Delegation to Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) and Multilateral Air Services Agreement (MASA) and successfully negotiated agreements with many Countries.

5.    He was appointed Federal Permanent Secretary by His Excellency, the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria on 4th December, 2019 to date, also he is the Chief Accounting Officer of the Federal Ministry of Aviation.

6.    The Officer is happily married with children.
